The Maison Forte overhangs by a hundred meters the old Roman road which linked Périgueux to Bergerac. 

 

The oldest part of the building dates back to the 14th century. It was probably built by a knight in the movement of the lords of Roussille. 

 

Originally it only consisted of two superimposed rooms. That of the floor which was used as habitat conceals a stone of sink under niche in full center and an ogival door which one reached by

outside, and which today forms a magnificent master suite with bathroom.

At the end of the XV century. a long barlong main building was attached to it.Its floor is served by an outdoor gallery protected by a large overhanging roof offering a sublime view of the vineyards and

the pond.
